Faces of Women

Using her own version of Contemporary Batik, Christine uses hot wax and the traditional tjanting tool to outline her designs. Brilliant dyes are applied to create subtle blends and gradations.

Inspired by the myriad of craftswomen from around the world whose daily practice and sale of their work enables them to improve their lives, Christine’s Faces of Women series speaks to her admiration of these incredible artists and her own dedication to the mastery of her craft.
